The Wiener Neustädt Altarpiece: Detail, The Nativity

The Virgin Mary's kneeling adoration of the naked baby is influenced by Bridget of Sweden's vision of the previous century, but Joseph's gesture and the baby's position in a manger on a ledge revert to the imagery that was traditional before Bridget.

Only two shepherds are shown on the left behind the low wall. The two figures standing inside the wall may be angels in clerical garb, although I cannot make out any wings.
